Large split ring on the top of salmon bungee. Duo lock on the bottom.
Bread tie for breakaway. The bread tie is better because you can adjust the tightness. Those magnet one's break away too easy.
I make mine tight enough to not break away on every bite, which keeps me in the water, longer.

I love experimenting with things, as you can see. To me, it's more fun to catch something on a random lure than the "go to" setups.

Hopefully, I get a chance to chase some more fish on the Columbia

Gear pictures!!!! Man do I love threads like this!

Can I ask how you set up this breakaway? I run two styles; one with a wire on the back and one with a small tube.

Can you elaborate on how this one is set up?

Thanks so much!

Has anyone thrown together a post for all these flasher color combo names? I don't know what colors are being refered to half the time. I searched but, I didn't find. Doesn't matter Shortbus or big Al or whatever. Or, maybe we could start something like that and it could be added to as people "create" new combos? Just an idea, well, sort of a question too.

An interesting array of colors and success. This was the year that I would demand to exit the boat, guides or friends or both, if I even smelled a triangle flasher on board.... and so I had my first ever Buoy 20 season without a single skunked day for the boat

I just started making my own triangle flashers this year but for whatever reason I still can’t keep my hands away from Shortbus flashers. I absolutely love the color combos they come up with! Even though I make a pretty decent flasher, there’s something about Shortbus products that keep me wanting to buy more. Especially the 360s.

I’ve been using an equal number of Flash Masters on my own rod. Made from thinner material and some of the colors are every bit as good as the Short Buss. The one currently on my rod is built on black, Copper center with UV green border, other side the opposite. These have a very nice spin to them. I really don’t care much what I drag around as long as it’s what I described above, or Sweet Abby, Pink Lady or similar. In 2018, solid green was a killer.

I didn't fish with flashers much this year. But when I did, it was with the same 3-4 that we have used for 95% of our fishing over the last 10 years.

Some sort of Chartreuse with or without moon jelly (Old school tape without moon jelly/highly reflective tape has a place and time)
Black carbon fiber with moon jelly
Oddball types-Usually involving red or pink and/or the newer reflective tape (Usually an impulse buy of my wife at local gas station who carries a bunch of tackle)

Izzat the one on the right? Same colors as my Flash Master, different pattern.
yeah, don't know what it is about that flasher, but it works on my boat.... if i take someone out fishing, they use the bacon, and I fish a different one (whoever i take i want to get bit rather than me) and it always works out as planned.

i have been beat by the bacon so many times on my own boat that i have a hard time fishing anything else when solo.

i want to try a super series in that color scheme

Pretty much. Changes color based on the angle of the reflection. Makes the water glow around it.

Anyone have any theories on how much flash is enough.... or too much?
i fish 5" flashers a lot, i think when it's busy on the river, it helps having less flash.... if i start getting fish giving up on a bait, i downsize.... could be coincidence, but i don't think so... the little details
