Not sure, all I know is that it is a juvenile baldy, an adult would never have let us get that close. It was sitting on top of a huge branch someone had buried up by the paved walking trail about a ½ mile north of the main Long Beach approach.
We were maybe 15 feet from it and it didn't fly away even as we walked back down to the water. My son and I were really excited to get that close to a bird like that.
