Buoy 10 spinners 2012
Buoy 10 Ifishers,
I'm heading to "The Buoy" with a good friend tomorrow for five days of fishing. I know the "Go To" lure is herring/anchovies. I would like to fish spinners, so what spinners have been working down there so far?
Thanks for your replies.

Was just down there over the weekend. The red/white's are working well and the mexican flag put 2 in the boat. Also throw out a coho killer, they were more like king killers this weekend. Herring did produce the most action though. Also, use lead and leave the divers at home. From what I noticed the guys having the most success were using lead. We fished mostly around D-sands. Close to bottom near sands during the outgoing and fished suspended in 50-60' on the incoming. Lots of fun when the bite picks up, which so far has been around tide change.

Re: Buoy 10 spinners 2012
The new Mulkey spinners are working and so are the red/white 6 1/2 thumper squid flex spinners. Caught a few on those on Saturday. The bait bite still seems best but I have more rods out with bait than spinners so I'm not really giving it a fair shake.

I like these. Be advised if you're looking for size 6 1/2, B.C. Anglers no longer carry them.

Re: Buoy 10 spinners 2012
I ran two rods with spinners like the above pictured ones (one squid, one not) in 6 1/2, almost all day today. Not a single bite. We kept catching fish on herring on the bottom, but had one rod that just needed to sit in a holder, so that was the spinner rod. I decided to put on a chartreuse/brass/blue dot spinner in a #5 and had two hits on it that missed and one nook that stuck. I don't pretend to understand this stuff.

Agreed with the half brass half red and blue dot. It's produced four out of five days for me this week. If your literally going to the buoy tho, I'd run anchovies on a diver and I'll tell you the depth in a pm! lol

Re: Buoy 10 spinners 2012
Last Thursday we hooked two one on a size 5 green dot the other on a size 6 chartreuse/flame. Put it in front of the fish and any proven color should work, especially if you have confidence in it.

Whatever you are deploying, if it's not getting bit every 10-20 minutes rotate in a new fighter until you find one that get's hit.......change is good.

Re: Buoy 10 spinners 2012
We avoided the long launch lines and the zoo and fished upstream yesterday. My buddies were running woblers, and I was a spinner like a few of the above. Just saying these work upstream as well!

Anise/krill, went 4/4 yesterday. Mostly Red/white, and chartreuse and green dot.

Half brass and red with blue dot is always consistant. Pink & white with pink hootchie has been number two.
