That gate makes me wonder??????? If you only have 3 lag screws- why would you skip the two end holes which would provide the most leverage/strength to the hinge/gate? Just say'n

My guess is the support beam for the wall is behind the 3 lag screws. a screw placed in the other hole would only go into the thinner wall board.

Driving back after a day of plunking on Sauvies yesterday I came across these two standing along a fence line looking rather nervous.
I look up and there's Mom waiting for her twins to join her but it appears they can't make the fence.
After a minute or so the fawns head back across the road into the brush and Mom soon follows.
I managed to get a few shots.

Wife bought a praying mantis egg case. It took awhile for them to hatch- then finally there were 5 babies in there! Then.........................the next day there appeared about 60 of them! They are about 3/4 of an inch long right now. They are fascinating to watch as their heads swivel about- checking out everything that moves. It's a little creepy thinking about what would happen if the little aquarium got knocked over and they were all released into the bathroom!
