THE Classified forum Rules......REVISED
New Classifieds Forum Rules
The ifish classified forums offer a unique opportunity to buy and sell things from other members of the community who are familiar with each other through events and contributions to the forums.
It is your responsibility to know these rules. By placing an ad, you are acknowledging that you have read and understand the rules and your agreeing to abide by them. We hope this helps to minimize risk and increases your comfort level in buying from someone you know.
General Rules
The Classified Forums are for one time private sales - you are not allowed to “open up shop” here. Multiple production of an item may not be continuously advertised. This includes large quantities of homemade items or items you have acquired in relation to a business (past or present). If you create or collect items for the purpose of re-selling them, it's considered a business endeavor whether or not you are a licensed business and regardless of profit. We protect our sponsors! If you are caught doing business on ifish without being a paid sponsor or making other arrangements with ifish management, your account may be closed.
Selling
To start a new thread in the ifish classifieds you must have at least 50 contributing posts in the ifish forums and you must be an active community member for at least 90 days. Any member (regardless of post count) may buy or reply to an ad but members with less than 50 posts must wait until they have the required posts to list and sell an item. If we find that your posts on ifish, (in order to reach 50) are frivolous, or if it is plain to us that you are just posting, "I agree" "Uh huh" or posting pictures in order to reach the limit, you will be disallowed.
You may post advertisements for yourself or on behalf of a family member, friend, etc. for whom membership with ifish is permitted. The important thing to remember is that you are the only point of contact on all sales. Your not allowed to post someone else's contact information.
Pictures are encouraged in your ads and will help you sell your item. You can use the “Gallery” section (link is at the top of the page under the banner ad) to store pictures if you don't have your own web space. Pete has done an excellent tutorial on how to load & post photos.Find that thread here. If you are having trouble posting pictures and do not use the ifish gallery please understand that we cannot help. Please try and keep your pictures to no larger than 40KB.
Please do not try to sell an item as a reply to a post - either create your own ad or use the PM system. Members are welcome to “top” or “bump” their ads if they fall off the first page but please only do this if the ad is your own. If you have a question or concern about posting an ad please contact a classified moderator..
Ad Specifics
Ads must represent a specific item. No "lots of this" or "lots of that" type listings are allowed. We do not allow auction type selling and require a listed price and quantity for each item. Sponsors may occasionally use the classifieds and do not have to list a price for business sales.
Please do not post items for sale in more than one forum and list items in their proper classified forum (boats & tackle, hunting or general). If you have several items to sell please list them all under one ad. Please use the "Garage Sale" thread atop the "General Class Ad" forum to let people know about your garage sales and post all trade offers in the “Trade Offers Only” threads located at the top of each classified forum.
We do not allow pointer posts on ifish. This means that you cannot post to the general boards asking members to "go see" what you have for sale in the Classified Forums. Links to eBay ads are OK but they must have a "Buy It Now" price. Links to Craigslist ads are also allowed. In both cases the eBay/Craiglist seller must be the ifish member placing the ad and the price of the item must be in the ifish ad. Links (URL’s) that take a buyer to the item being sold elsewhere online for more information are not allowed in your ifish ads.
We do not recommend posting an e-mail address or phone number in your actual ad. This prevents spammers from finding your address and spamming you. You can setup your Personal Messages to send you an e-mail (automatic) alert that you have a personal message so you don't have to visit the site just to see if your ad has any replies. We highly recommend that for the convenience of the buyer, you name the city and state where the item is located.
Item Restrictions
We encourage only the lawful sale of products. It is the responsibility of the both the seller and buyer to ensure they are not violating any laws.
- Firearms: please review the rules and restrictions before posting they can be found here.
- Firewood: the sale of 1-2 cords of wood per year (only) is permitted.
- Litters: one litter is permitted, per member, period.
- Hay: hay sales are not allowed
Buying
Transactions are between private individuals and normal caution should be exercised. ifish is not responsible for issues that may arise and cannot help you resolve those issues. If you are knowingly buying from someone on the boards who is doing business as a non sponsor, you risk losing your money if we ban their account.
If you want to offer an amount lower than the full asking price for an item please use the PM system. Derogatory comments posted about items another member is selling will be deleted.
After The Sale
Once a sale is completed or you no longer want the ad to be listed please use the following alert procedure to have your ad deleted. Do not attempt to delete your ad manually or post a reply in your ad thread asking for it to be deleted. Look for this symbol to the lower left of your post. Simply click on it and ask for your ad to be deleted in the text box that appears.
Please use the alert feature to have your ad deleted, if you believe a post should be watched due to content, or to alert the moderators to any post for any reason.
Abuse
ifish classified forums are moderated to ensure that the rules are followed. Any ad may be removed at the discretion of the moderators. We reserve the right to take action (with or without rule) when we feel it’s appropriate including but not limited to removal of an ad post or section of an ad; restricting a member from listing in the classifieds; restricting and/or banning a member from ifish entirely. We reserve the right to ban any account based on any alleged illegal activities.
ifish moderators are volunteers. They do not get paid but offer their time and assistance to help keep our classifieds free, safe, productive and useful to the members of ifish.net. If you are abusive or rude to them it is grounds for automatic banning from the forums. We welcome your feedback in the form of personal messages but complaining about ifish moderators in the general or classified forums will not be tolerated.
Bans
Once an account is banned for any reason, you are not allowed to re-register in any way. Any attempt to bypass or circumvent this system by registering under an alias, name of a friend, family member, or any other form will cause the account to be terminated. Anyone who knowingly assists in fraudulently obtaining an account will also be banned and is liable for fraud.
Legal
www.ifish.net assumes no responsibility for items bought, sold or traded. These boards use excludes any legal business, unless those businesses are specifically ifish vendors. We reserve the right to prosecute for fraud and lost wages for the time it takes to deal with the problems you created including legal expenses. It is now a crime to misrepresent yourself on-line. We have worked with various agencies upon request to help prosecute scammers, con-artists, or illegal sales and shipping. We run a tight ship here and if asked by authorities for help keeping the laws of our land we will assist them as much as we can.

Re: THE Classified forum Rules
Please know that if you are interested in an item and are not a member, we are not able to help you by passing messages along that you are interested.
The classifieds at ifish are for ifishers only.
Please be patient, and become a member if you are interested!
Jen
