Default Another Stolen Kicker

I had a 15 Hp 4 stroke 2007 Yamaha kicker motor cut from the back of my boat Friday night in Hillsboro. This is the electric start and electric tilt model, there’s not a pull cord but does have the tiller handle option. The dirt bags cut the battery cable the gas line and the safety cable holding it to the boat. I’ll post the serial #’s when I dig them up but wanted to get this out there in case anyone hears of a deal on this type of motor anywhere. They will either try to sell it without a battery cable attachment at all or it will have some type of aftermarket battery cable. Hillsboro PD said that several boats in the area have been hit and they suspect a crew is working the area because of the precision tools being used and the efficiency at which they are getting these motors off. Thanks for keeping an eye out and be sure you check how your boat motors are secured- welding may be my new option.

I'm feeling ya, less than a month ago they got my 2009 3.5hp merc four stroke. A lot of people will comment on solutions and deterents but from what I'm seeing as of late, the only solution is to take the kicker off every night and store it in the house or garage. Father in law was kind enough to give me his 1997 5hp honda four stroke and it now resides in the garage over night. It sucks to have to take it off every time but I sleep much better at night. I also will keep my eyes and ears peeled, I'm still trying to find mine so I'm on C.L. 3 times a day. Good luck.

feel the pain too, had mine stolen a couple years ago and just quit fishing, put the boat in storage. Just bought a 8 hp Yamaha and take it off every time I fish, in the garage.
