I'm almost done rebuilding my '66 plywood sled that I am planning to use primarily on the
NFL and I'm really hoping to catch a ride with someone willing to show me some of the
things to look out for along the river.
I've been bank fishing some of the "usual" spots for 20+ years but the boat is all new
to me and I'm not interested in learning boat safety the hard way.
I've got whatever gear I might need and not afraid of buying some gas and beverages.
I hope to be a regular out there and it would be nice to know some of the other regulars.
PM if you're interested.

Read the water surface!!! If you see some sort of distrubance then there is something underneath the water just up stream. That being said I have also bumped alot of things that didn't show any surface signs. If your going to run the Lewis then your going to bump something at some point in time...It happens to all of us if your fishing the right water. There are lots of stumps and logs in the frog water. The river seems to change ever year. Lots of logs on the north side of eagle island, lots of fish too! It might be best to follow sombody as well and watch the line they take.
it will help to see it from in the boat as well as behind. Becareful and enjoy!
I too have a ton to learn about the NF, but one thing foresure is my job infulences the NF flow a great deal, and what I do know is that they need to run water hard for several days. So fishing it is not a good idea at this time. Maybe a week or so. We'll see.
