Took the boat down to Kalamath Lake a couple weekends ago and scored this 25" RB. No scale but felt exactly like the 10+# springer I caught a week prior. I know they get a lot bigger there but that is definitely my best trout so far.
Great pics!
I've been doing real well down here in Northern Kali on the browns this year. All drift fishing with half a crawler or crickets!
2 to 4 lbs so far. Biggest over the years has been a 9 and a 7 3/4 #. I love the streams.
Had a couple Decent bows on Photobucket, don't have several of the best but I figured I would put these up for now. All Haystack Brooders, 26, 27, and 25 inchers respectively, the last of course the biggest trophy. As usual that little girl goes to the tacklebox and finds something different which should not work in the situation and catches the biggest fish of the day. This time it was a bass lure that we trolled for her to catch that one.
We are doing a Kokanee, Mackinaw, Trout, and Salmon seminar March 9th in Lebanon with Vance Steplin, Bob Gerig, And Curt Curry all the info. is posted on the calander for March 9th 2013 check it out.:meme:
mine may not be as big ,but this isnt a brooder or stocked at all for that matter. 24 inch 5.5lb wild rainbow, this is the biggest trout ive caught on a fly
Such a beauty. I'm planning a trip there for this summer. Bringing the 7/8 wt since I dont know if my fiberglass 5wt will stand much of a chance against those monsters.
I rarely target mackinaw but do catch a few kokanee fishing. This 35 inch mack is my largest to date and was caught with a kokanee rod rated for 4-10 line and a reel spooled with 8 lb line.
Nice Mack! :excited:But I'm more impressed with how you caught it rather than the size (not to take anything away from the fish:flowered: It's still a KILLER Mack). Bet that took a while to get in on koke set-up. And Wallowa is a pretty tough lake to catch a laker in (this is more per a guide I know up there than my personal experience). Well done, sir!:applause:
Here's a Crescent Lake brown caught by my girlfriend Lynn on 3-25-13. She released him after the photo.
